Here we have Mouse Beard Fred and Weensie Bumblestump (and Malcolm the mouse and Mopoly the cat).



Mouse Beard Fred was a character that Fuzzy Gerdes created almost 3 years ago now, in a one man improv show. Fred is the only known Homeless Man in Farfeld, although there is talk of a legendary rival somewhere on the outskirts of Cincinnati...

Weensie Bumblestump is based on the character Cutie Bumblesnatch from Don't Spit The Water, created by Erica Reid. Weensie is Fred's pint-sized companion. She lives on Fred. During the summer, she sleeps on his belly, and during the cold winters, she nests cozy up in his mitten. Fred keeps Weensie warm and safe, and Weensie keeps Fred entertained and on his toes.

This strip was spawned from an actual occurance in the Gerdes/Reid house, which Fuzzy mentioned in his blog HERE. Go read about it, won't you?

It was just a big flaming coincidence that Erica and Fuzzy announced their engagement right around the same time this strip was coming out. I considered making an alternate version confidential to the announcement, but then my head fell on the desk and I died from exhaustion.
